took my nephew to see this cuz he's obsessed with dinosaurs and honestly?? had way more fun than i expected. yes the dialogue is kinda cheesy in parts, there's literally a scene where they explain what's happening like 3 different times lol, but the dino set pieces go SO hard. anne hathaway going full mama bear mode with a weapon was unreal. theatre was loud the whole time, people gasping, laughing, it's that kind of movie. not gonna win any oscars but had a blast

mixed feelings on this one. the concept (neighborhood gets teleported, now there's dinosaurs, also the parents' marriage is falling apart) is genuinely fun on paper but the tone kept whiplashing between "we're gonna die" horror and full on slapstick comedy and it never really settled into one thing. Ewan McGregor and Anne Hathaway do their best with what they're given but their characters barely grow past scene one. still, it's a decent watch if you turn your brain off

ok as someone who has watched literally every dinosaur movie ever made i need people to know this is actually one of the better ones since jurassic park. the practical/visual effects on the dinos are insane, the chase sequences don't let up, 90 min runtime means zero filler. is the writing a little clunky sometimes, sure. do i care when there's a raptor pack chasing a minivan through someone's backyard, absolutely not

went in with zero expectations bc the trailer looked kinda generic honestly and came out pleasantly surprised. maisy stella was a standout for me, her character actually felt like a real teenager and not just "scared teen #2." the whole 1982 setting thing was a nice touch too, there's a little jurassic park nod that's actually funny since the movie technically takes place before jurassic park existed. wouldn't rewatch but glad i saw it on the big screen
