This is definitely not the kind of DC movie you put on expecting a typical superhero experience. It's messy, creepy and surprisingly tragic in places. The practical effects deserve a lot of credit, and a few moments are hard to get out of your head. I do think the pacing could have been tighter, but the film has its own identity, which is more than I can say for a lot of comic book movies.

Clayface is honestly a pretty refreshing change from the usual superhero movies. The horror elements are disturbing in the best way, and Matt Hagen's story gives the film more depth than I expected. Some scenes are genuinely uncomfortable to watch, but that's what makes it work. Definitely one of the more interesting DC projects in recent years.
